Go away fats! Shoo...Shoo...!

Alright, lets talk abit about losing weight cause I had gained about few kg by staying at home for few month. Haiz! I guess it might be due to lack of exercise cause I had reduce my food intake for quite a while, but I still gain weight. Hmmm..why oh why???

Anyway,I was watching tv and there's Dr Oz show talking about weight loss. It was an interesting and educational episode as I'm able to learn a lot of tips to lose weight. Ok here goes.....

*Best time to eat your food*
Breakfast: 7.30am
Lunch: 12pm
Dinner: 6.30pm

*Best time to exercise*
Time: 6.35am

*Best time to boost metabolism*
Time: 8am
-In order to boost the metabolism, drink a glass of ice cold water

*Best time to grocery shopping*
Time: 10am
-Cause you are still full with your breakfast and drinking glass of ice cold water. Your blood sugar level is at good point.

*Best time to take fibre*
Time: 6.15pm (15min before dinner)

To add on, I must drink at least 3litre per day. =)

-> Want to know why to the above tips? Ask Dr Oz. Hehehe!

Another tips:
BOOST METABOLISM THAT HELP BURN BELLY FAT

1) Avocado (Guacamole)
Replace mayo with gluacamole spread for healthy fats. Healthy fats thwart belly bloat.

2) Ba...ba..ba..baba..nana!
Potassium in banana limits stomach swelling.

3) Yogurt (preferably plain greek yogurt)
Encourages growth of good bacteria. May add berries for extra sweetness.

4) Berries (strawberry, blueberry..etc)
Antioxidants improves blood flow.

5) Chocolate skim milk (low in sugar)
Protein promotes muscle building. Eg.drink it after gym.

6) Green tea
Help kickstart metabolism. Drink x3/day.

7) Citrus fruits
Encourage fat burning during exercise.

8) Eat more fibre
High fibre food keep you full longer.

Kentang goreng masak kicap

Fikir punya fikir, akhirnya Fa decide untuk masak kentang goreng masak kicap, sayur campur dan airfried fish fillet dan paru berempah. Senang betul kalau ada airfrier ni, masukkan bahan yang nak goreng, tutup, set time & temperature. Ok, dah boleh goyang kaki dan punggung. Save time, energy & most importantly, no oil involved....so its healthy! Best kan.... hehehe.

For the sake of remembering the recipies, terpaksalah rajin kan jari jemari ni untuk type bahan2 yang digunakan. Simple je...

Ingredients:

oil
4 or 5 potatoes (cut to wedges, skin removed)
1 handful anchovies
1 med onion
2 cloves garlic
5 cili padi
2 tbspn sweet soya sauce

Method:
-Fry potato (till lightly crispy outside & soft inside)
-Use the same oil to fry anchovies ( till lightly crispy)
-Use same oil to fry the onion, garlic, chillies.
-Pour 2 tbspn of soya sauce
-Lastly, add the fried potato, anchovies back to the cooking pan and mix all the ingredients.

Done!

P/s: Ini masakan orang baru belajar. So nothing special. Simple2 je. Heeeeehehe... =)

Straits Times 10km run

250813, 7.15am. It was our first run and the best part is...we signed up for the 10km run instead of the initial plan which is fun walk & run 5km. All this for the sake of getting our first and probably last(hope NOT!)medal. hehhehe! Anyway,I had fun during the event, being able to run with my love, bestie and her hubby.

Few days before the event, me and hubby only trained for 2 days. Guess there's lack of training for us. But overall we did great as we managed to finish the 10km course and most importantly, not being the last! hehehe... The best part, each of us received tickets to the new sea aquarium at sentosa. Weee~ Can't wait to go! As for now, hubby is having the side effect of running 10km without doing any warm up....he's having a bad backache and walking like an old lady with the walking sticks. Had applied massage oil for his back, swallow panadol, paste "koyok"...yet there still not much of improvement. Hmmm....will observe for a few days, if it still does not improve, I will advise him to see the Dr.

p/s: Feel like signing up for another marathon la... =p Must slim down first, so that I will run much faster. =) Anw, the shirt that I wore is super dupper tight! Ok, my bad....i choose the wrong size..huhu~

Cara mandi wajib

Just a reminder for me and to improvised myself....chey..hehe!

Cara yang betul mandi wajib ialah berniat mandi wajib iaitu,

1)Mandi (bersihkan segala kotoran)
2)Ambil wuduk.(stop sampai telinga)
3)Siramkan air ke atas kepala sambil membaca niat:

Nawaitu raf- al hadasil akbari fardan alaiya lillahi taaala.

6)Lastly, basuh kaki sambungan wuduk tadi.

*Semasa meratakan air, hendaklah dijaga supaya tangannya tidak menyentuh qubul dan dubur tanpa lapik yang menyebabkan wuduknya batal.

or...

NAWAITU RAF ' A HADASIL AKBARI LILLAHI TA'ALA,

Lalu dijirus air dari kepala sehingga membasahi seluruh tubuh badan termasuk benda sulit depan dan belakang.
Gosoklah bahagian badan sehingga anda yakin air sudah meratai anggota badan tersebut.

Dillema...

Just received a call from the hospital that my interview for the pharmacy tech position will be on 19 aug 2013. The good thing,it does not clash with my phlebetomy training which fall on 20 aug. But the BAD NEWS is, this sat till mon, I will be away with my family to Melaka!!! How am i supposed to come for the interview if I'm still in Melaka?! Haiz.... I don't even have plan B. As for now, i need to study for the drug test which will be held for 1 hour before the interview. Hmmm..... I'm stressed up about this till i felt like sleeping so that i can at least forget about my problem for the time being. To add on to my problem, I just reveived an email from the 10km run event which my hubby, buddies & myself will be joining on 25aug....regarding the unavailability of stocks to exchange my t-shirt sizes. Sabsuka

Yesterday night, hubby's family side came for raya. I had to rush home straight after the interview at paragon. But before that, I went to Causeway point cold storage and sheng shiong to buy some groceries. Hubby wait at sheng shiong to fetch mum and myself with all the heavy loads.

Reached home, I realized that I have about 1 hr 30 mins to cook since they told us that they'll be coming around 8pm. After all the fast and furious in the kitchen with the help of my mum, we managed to settle on the 1st dish, which is mee hong kong. My next mission is to cook Sabsuka for the first time and I still dare enough to serve it to my guest...hehehe...what am I thinking? I'm just taking the risk hoping that it will turn out well.

Luckily it does turn out well. Yeah!! But I think I should reduce the amount of onions in it next time. BIL said that it's good and hubby told me that BIL keep praising that it taste yummy! So, YEAAAH for me! Hahaha! Will make it again for sure and modified it to my liking nxt time. This sabsuka goes well with french loaf.

Sugee

Here are the 2013 sugee recipies that I've made for 2013 raya. This recipies are given by one of the fb group members. I tried the first recipies with additional of crushed almond to give it an extra ummmpphh... It taste yummy! My cousin comment: "Eh Farah, suji kau buat eh? Sedap....aku suke. Macam suji Bhai." I give this recipies 2 thumbs up as it received a few compliments. So, I shall try and make this again nxt yr. InsyaAllah.

The problem I'm experiencing in making the suji is to make all the balls same size equally. I just use the cookie cutter and roll it into balls. Somehow it does look equally the same size. One of them suggest to weight each of the balls so that it will be the same. I tried it, but I guess it will work only for the electronic weighing balance.

Next time I will try to make the 2nd recipies which include semolina powder in it. Heard that semolina powder will make the suji more crunchy.

1)

SUGEE JULIA SALIM

400gm QBB Ghee Medium tin
300gm Powdered sugar (icing powder) ( ikut sukatan tin ghee )
1 tspn vanilla essence
1 tspn bicarbonate soda
1 tspn garam
700gm Tepung gandum (estimate..jgn terlebih!)
I add small packets of crushed badam

-QBB & gula satukan kan dan di kacau hingga tukar warna dengan mengunakan whisk aje.
-Masukan garam, vanilla essence & bicarbonate soda kacau lagi.
-Baru masukan terpung gandum agak2 ya jgn sampai terlebih..
-uli dgn mengunakan tangan. Adunan yg betul bila kita gentel iya tak melekat2..
-Bakar dgn suhu 180 deg selama 20 mins.. ( halfway thru rotate the loyang for even cooking...)

2)

SUGEE (with semolina)

400ml ghee (cairkan & sejukkan)
800gm tepung gandum
1 1/2 tspn baking powder
100gm tepung semolina
340gm icing sugar
50gm badam kisar

-Satukan semua bahan kering and gaul rata.
-Tuang ghee and gaul.
-Perap overnight (adun malam & bakar pagi , supaya tepung semolina lembut)
-180 deg , 15-20min

What's it like to work as a Phlebotomist?

I've been staying at home as housewife for the past 7 months and it is soooooo not to my liking. I'm totally eager to secure a permanent job and work and work till I become a millionaire. Muahaha! =p Anyway, yesterday I went for an interview at paragon medical centre as phelebotomy? (i did'nt apply for that job post but they offer me that post as I do have a nurse cert.) Well, I absolutely know nothing about that skills. I just know that I need to withdraw blood from the patients and for those afraid of blood, can just forget about this kind of job.

Next week is the starting of my training on withdrawing blood. I will be trained for 2 weeks (1st week in paragon & 2nd week in thomson) for that 2 weeks they will observe if i'm capable for that job post. If not, can just say sayonara....huhu~ The problem I'm experiencing right now, I did reschedule my interview appointment with one of the hospital company, I'm just afraid that the interview will fall on one of my training week (office hrs). So, how am I supposed to go? I can't simply reject my interview with the hospital as Pharmacy Technician...what if after 2 weeks, the lab company that interview me yesterday did not want me? End up, I lost my job opportunity with the hospital company... haiz... -in dillema

Well,I'll just go with the flow. Hope everything will turn out well. Amin.
